When agency work needs rescuing
These days, many believe AI has already made them software developers. New agencies promise professional solutions, while often nobody can explain how those solutions actually work.
Their clients later land on my desk: because something was built that nobody understands, or because the solution doesn't work in everyday use.
And it often fails at the basics. Entire portals missing things that are covered in lesson one of software development:
- no password-reset function,
- untested features that suddenly stop working,
- deleted databases, because an AI suggestion was confirmed without review,
- systems with no traceable states, permissions or error handling.
